Dear Missy,
My heart aches with you. I never got to meet your husband, but in reading about his life, and in knowing you, I can see that our part of the world has lost someone special.
To all my friends in the Harrington Family. The loss of Phil has brought back such amazing memories growing up with all of you. I only hope that my children are fortunate enough to have someone like Phil around as they grow up. Phil gave me my first job, rode four wheelers with me the first time, hunted with me the first time, and so much more. As you all know, I battled arthritis when I was in 7th grade, forcing me to give up playing football. Phil was the man who convinced me to play my senior year. I had more fun playing one year of football than any activity subsequent. While I have not spoken with Phil in quite a few years, I will never forget the influence he had on my childhood. Growing up with Dan and David, Phil was always oversaw the adult responsibilities with the heart and spirit of a kid. He continued to "rush the passer" well past the time he should have been "all time quarterback." If one could only relive the experiences they had with Phil; it would be a good life. With deepest sympathy and best wishes. Rest in Peace Phil.
To all of the Harrington family, its hard to know the words to say at this very difficult time. We are so very sorry for your loss. Love and god bless from Mort and me.
