Carol Bliss Griggs shines in my memory. She--and we maybe in the 1980's, out on the hilltop in front of Burnt Hill Farm. Her Father Ted is driving the tractor. Carol and cousins and I are strolling behind, conversing on a sunlit afternoon, enjoying the exercise and each other's company. We're bucking bales of hay for winter feed for Ted's cows. Carol is always with her smile...

I was saddened to hear of Carol's passing. I was a student in the Aegean Dendrochronology lab at Cornell and Carol was a warm and calm presence, a patient teacher and a tireless researcher. She had a big impact on everyone who passed through the lab and I have fond memories of my hours sitting near her peering through our microscopes. I feel fortunate to have known and learned from her. I hope her memory will be a blessing for her family and friends.
I was so sorry to learn about Carol’s passing. She was such a lovely woman. I always enjoyed talking with her at the Cornell bus stop and hearing about her research and learning about how she determined the age of trees. May you all be blessed and comforted by your warm memories of Carol.
Sending our deepest condolences to the Griggs family. May God bring you comfort and peace for your loss.

I’m so very sorry for your loss of this wonderful person. Carol was a teaching assistant for me (briefly) while she was working on her dissertation. She was a pleasure to work with: a consummate professional, helpful, no drama and tremendously knowledgeable in her field. The Dendro lab at Cornell will not be the same without her.
This hurts so bad it's hard to find the words. A loving and caring soul, a magnificent woman who deserved every ounce of love she had. She welcomed me as one of her own, as a member of her own family, and that, I will never forget. Our hearts, our thoughts and all our love are with you, Bill & Katie.
Always,
Alma & Tere
