Obituary of Aurelija Crljen

Aurelija Crljen Age 77, formerly of Burdett and Valois, N.Y. went to be with her Heavenly Father on August 15, 2013 at St. Joseph's Skilled Nursing Facility in Elmira, N.Y. Aurelija was born in Dol-Koter, Slovenia to Maria (Marcella) and Josip Rihter. She is predeceased by her parents, several siblings, and longtime companion Elmer Illes. She is survived by a daughter Mira (Jimmy) Meriwether from Jacksonville, North Carolina; her three grandchildren, Michael, Miranda, and Matthew; a sister, Zdenka (Paul) Trevillian from Cardiff Australia; and friends and caregivers Mary and Frank Smalley from Valois NY. Aurelija has been a prayer warrior for Bethel Grove Bible Church in Ithaca, as well as friends and family. She was known for her Yugoslavian accent, outgoing personality, and her giving spirit. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, 8/29/2013, 7 pm, at the Vedder and Scott Funeral Home at 122 North Genesee Street, Montour Falls. Burial will be at Hector Presbyterian Church cemetery at a later time.
