Obituary of Manona B. Tuttle
Manona B. Tuttle, age 88, of Burdett, NY passed away on December 30th, 2020 at Schuyler Hospital in Montour Falls, NY.
Manona was born on October 15th, 1932 in Silver Springs, NY, the daughter of the late Gilbert and Beaulah Pangborne. When she was young her and her siblings were adopted by Mrs. Overly as a family. Manona graduate Silver Springs High School and then ventured to NYC and became a nanny. She was introduced to her late husband, Charles L. Tuttle by her younger sister, Alice. They were married in 1955 and bought their first home in 1956. A year later her and Charlie began their family with the arrival of their daughter, Sheila in 1957 and son, Charles II in 1959. Manona was a 4 H leader in the 1970's, along with her dear friend, Virginia Kellogg Lott. She had worked part time as a vineyardist tying and harvesting grapes and worked as a house cleaner with her daughter for several years. Manona had also volunteered at the gift shop at Schuyler Hospital.
She is survived by her daughter, Sheila Tuttle of Burdett and son, Charles L. Tuttle II of Elmira. In addition to her parents, Manona was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Charles L. “Tut” Tuttle on January 16th, 2016; brothers, Bob and David Overly and her younger sister, Alice Quinata of Tyrone, NY.
