Dick Carpenter was one of the best drummers I ever had the honor to play with. We spent years in the Sweet River Band and remained close friends even after I moved to Texas. I always got hold of him when I returned home for vacation so that we could go over old victories and discuss what was happening in our lives at the present. There was no one more caring and easy to talk to. I feel blessed to have known him. One of my favorite memories of Dick was when we were playing, all of a sudden he would hit his snare hard, say"Ha!"loudly, and continue on with the song, never missing a beat. He was a rock solid musician and friend and I will miss him. Take care my brother.
