Obituary of Lorie A. Nelson

Lorie A. Nelson (Davenport) went to be with our heavenly father on December 21, 2019 at the age of 49. Lori was born on April 10, 1970 in Elmira, NY to Floyd Davenport and Barbara Meder. She graduated from Odessa Montour School in 1988. She married Norman Nelson in 2008. She worked as a Pharmacy tech for many years at Walmart. Lorie was blessed with a large family. She was a devoted and proud mother and grandmother. She enjoyed camping with her family and friends, the cooking channel and to spend time with her special friends. Lorie was the kind of person that would help anyone even during her illness. Helping her nephew Jeffery was something she loved, along with knowing she made a difference in him. Lorie's kind heart made so many people happy. Lorie was predeceased by her father Floyd Davenport 2003, mother Barbara Meder 2014, grandparents and by her daughter Ashley Davenport-Leonard 2008. Lorie is survived by husband Norman Nelson; her sons, Tyler Davenport (Liz) Cayuta, NY, and Timothy Nelson (Tonya)Hughsville, PA; her daughters Brianna and Victoria Nelson, and Fayth Walton-Hilton of Rochester, NY; brother Edward Steiner (Cindy) Spencer, NY; her special friends/sisters Anne Quick, Newfield, NY, Kimberley Bailey-Snyder and Lisa Bruno Rhoades, Odessa, NY; brothers in law, Chad Nelson (Marcia) Cayuta, NY, and Mike Nelson (Brenda) Rochester, NY; sisters in law, Lisa Burdick (Kevin) Phelps, NY, and Brenda Nelson Rochester, NY; seven grandchildren, Liv, Elaina, Timothy Jr, Oceania, Levi, Liam and King; several nieces and nephews; and her special goddaughters/nieces Heather Fish, Samantha Fish and Hazel Consler. A celebration of life will be held on January 11, 2020 at the Ithaca Moose Club 12:00 p.m.
