Obituary of Vernon H. Palmer

Vernon Harry Palmer, Jr., 66, of Montour Falls, entered unto rest on Wednesday, June 19, 2019 at Seneca View SNF. He was born in Montour Falls on September 30, 1952 the son of the late Vernon Harry Palmer, Sr. and Genevieve May Hetherington and attended Odessa-Montour Central School. He served honorably in the US Marine Corps. Vernon worked at Challenge Industries many years ago before becoming disabled. He enjoyed doing word searches, making wooden canes and walking sticks. He loved hanging with family and friends, and would do anything for anybody without hesitation. He will be missed dearly. He is survived by four daughters, Shelly Palmer of Montour Falls, Melissa Palmer of Ithaca, Rebecca Palmer, and Tori Palmer of Beaver Dams; two sons, Jason Palmer of Geneseo and Brian Palmer; two adopted daughters, Chrissy Holford of Montour Falls and MyAnna Novick of Elmira; a sister, Luella Dawn Palmer of Montour Falls; and six grandchildren, Alisha Morey, Joshua Morey, Chad Craven, Jr., Zoey Palmer, Bret Palmer and Matthew Palmer. He was predeceased by his daughter, Crystal Lepp in 2017. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 29, 2019 at 11:00 am at First Baptist Church, 221 W. South St., Montour Falls. Burial will be held at a later date.
