Obituary of Joseph Clary

Joseph Edwin Clary, age 92, passed away peacefully at Seneca View Skilled Nursing in Montour Falls on January 10, 2014. Joe was born October 23, 1921 to William and Dominga Clary in Rochester, NY. In addition to his parents he is predeceased by his wife Mildred, daughter Kimberly and four siblings. He is survived by sons Michael (Nancy) of Webster, NY and James of Montour Falls, NY; seven grandchildren, Laura, Kathleen, Steven, Alan, Alana, Christopher and Keely; and six great grandchildren. Joe was a proud veteran of World War II serving in the US Air Force as a 1st Sergeant as well as many years in the reserves. Joe was a welder in the union for many years as well as owning many businesses. He was the third generation owner of Clary's Hardware in Dundee as well as the owner of the Queen Catherine Motel in Watkins Glen and The Heavenly Treat ice cream stand in Millport. In later years he lived in Florida and Tennessee before returning to New York. The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Seneca View Skilled Nursing for the loving compassionate care given to Joe, especially his wonderful nurse Cindy Hines.
