Obituary of Martin K. Hammond

Martin K. Hammond, 75, of Millport, entered unto rest on Friday, January 4, 2019 with his family by his side. He was born in Sayre, PA on April 7, 1943, the son of Mina Sieberkrob and Edward Brown. He served with the US Army from 1968-1970. Mr. Hammond worked for many years as a window washer and later owned Elmira Window Cleaning. Martin was the former president of the Millport Community Days and the Millport Cemetery. He was predeceased by his parents, sisters, Doris Parmeter and Waneta Sieberkrob. He is survived by his loving companion of 36 years, Linda Parmelee of Millport; daughters, Marty Lynn (Mike) Just of Millport and Tina Parmelee of Millport; six brothers, Welford "Whip" (Linda) Hammond of Marathon, Walter "Jim" (Brenda) Brown of Elmira, Charles (Kim) Sieberkrob of Millport, Michael "Toehead" Sieberkrob of Millport, Rick (Joan) Woodruff of Elmira and Scott (Tammi) Brown of Elmira; three sisters, Barbara Teal (Bill Couch) of Richford, NY, Romona "Pete" (Donald Clink) of Whitney Point, and Patricia (Doug) Gursky of Philipsburg, MT; three grandchildren, Mary Just, Morgan Just and Thomas Sheehan, Jr. of Millport; uncle, Ray (Rita) Tyler; and several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Saturday, January 12, 2019 from 2:00-3:00 pm at Vedder and Scott Funeral Home, 122 N. Genesee St., Montour Falls, NY. A memorial service will follow at 3:00 pm. Burial will be in Millport Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
