Obituary of William H. Allyn
William Hugh Allyn, 76, reached the end of his path into the gates of heaven on Wednesday, November 14, 2018. He passed peacefully, honorably, and deeply loved with his LOVING, DEVOTED, SWEETIE JEANNINE, family and friends.
He was born in 1942 in Sayre, PA and lived in Ulster, PA. He was the son of the late Paul Manley Allyn and Eleanor McCue Allyn. Bill is survived by his sisters, Jean (John) Neiley and Allice (Jack) Welliver, brother, Richard (Nan) Allyn; and by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Bill served in the United States Army from 1960-1963 as SP4. Bill was a 37 year retiree of Schweizer Aircraft as a tool and die maker. He loved to travel, meeting new people, and nature (flowers & birds). He was a "walking newspaper". His hobby was collecting trains and participating in train shows. His most becoming trait was his warm, penetrating, and loveable smile. His smile embraced my heart and captured it forever! Bill was calm, serene, and self-possessed. He will be missed by all who really knew him.
Bill will be laid to rest with military honors on Friday, November 30, 2018 at 1:00 pm at Woodlawn National Cemetery, Elmira, NY. Arrangements are under the direction of Vedder and Scott Funeral Home, Montour Falls.
