Obituary of Ann J. Confer

Ann J. Confer, 82, of Lakeland, Florida and Montour Falls, NY, passed away on Monday, May 14, 2018 after a brief illness. She was born in Elmira on April 18, 1936 the daughter of the late Ray N. and Barbara L. (Hurd) Margeson and graduated from Horseheads High School. Ann retired as a staff accountant from Ciaschi, Dietershagen, Little, Mickelson in Ithaca. She was a member of the Montour Falls United Methodist Church, Mechanics Club, the Tuesday Golf League at Soaring Eagles and treasurer of the Georgetown Homeowners Association. She was predeceased by her husband, George R. "Bud" Confer in 2014, and by a brother, Jack Margeson. Ann is survived by her children, Karen (Dan) Rock of Odessa, Jason (Lisa) Confer of MD, and Bud's children, Sharon (Bill) Van of Huntsville, AL and Jeff (Linda) Confer of Montour Falls; brother, Gerald Margeson of FL; sister-in-law, Maria Margeson of FL; grandchildren, Brian (Joy) Rock, Chad, Tate and Cayden Confer; great grandchildren, Gavin, Henry and Samantha Rock; a nephew; and five nieces with special thanks to Kelly for all of her help. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Saturday, June 2, 2018 from 2:30-4:30 pm at Vedder and Scott Funeral Home, 122 N. Genesee St., Montour Falls. A celebration of Ann's life will follow at 4:30 pm. Burial will be in Seneca Union Cemetery in Valois at the convenience of the family. The family will provide flowers.
