Obituary of John W. Glick

John W. Glick, 66, of Beaver Dams, passed away on Friday, September 8, 2017 at Seneca View Skilled Nursing Facility in Montour Falls, after a long battle with cancer. He was born in Corning, on November 3, 1950, the son of John B. and Betty V. Glick. He graduated from Bradford High School and attended CCC. John was a carpenter and superintendent for 31 years, retiring in 2005. He was a member of the Monterey Baptist Church. He loved fishing on Lake Ontario and in Florida, and enjoyed golfing and road trips. He is survived by his wife, Mary V. (Chaffee) Glick; three sons, John W. Glick of Watkins Glen, Jeremy Glick of Rock Stream, and Christopher (Tracey) Glick of Corning; mother, Betty V. Glick of Monterey; two sisters, Beth Ann (Doug) Lovelace of Port Jervis, and Mary E. (Greg) Glick of Montour Falls; a brother, James (Alice) Glick of Michigan; six grandchildren, Garrison, Gweneth, Brody, Braden, Makayla and Gavin; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father, John B. Glick in 2003, and by his sister, Linda Button in 2015. Relatives and friends are invited to gather at a graveside service on Monday, September 18, 2017 at 11:00 am at Maltby Cemetery, Coon Hollow Rd., Monterey. Following services at the cemetery, there will be a celebration of John's life at the Montour Moose Lodge, State Route 14, Montour Falls.
