Obituary of Margaret Ryan

Margaret Swann Ryan (Peggy), of Montour Falls, NY went to be with the Lord on Monday, November 18, 2013, surrounded by her family at Robert Packer hospital, Sayre, PA, following an extended illness. Peggy was born on March 13, 1930 in Franklin, PA, the daughter of Violet and Preston Swann. Peggy lived in Manhattan, Brooklyn and Staten Island for about 40 years before moving to Schuyler County in 1978, upon her husband's retirement from NYPD. She is survived by her sisters Helen Carmine and Mabelyn Dellegrazie of Staten Island, sons Thomas Ryan, Jr. of Odessa, Donald Ryan and daughter-in-law Sandra of Montour Falls, daughter Colleen Ryan Quattrini and son-in-law Robert Quattrini, Horseheads, grandsons Richard Ryan, Ithaca, Daniel (Dana) Ryan, Westchester County, Nicholas and Michael Quattrini, Horseheads, granddaughter Lacy Ryan, Cortland, her beloved cat "Callie", her three close friends Betsy, Linda and Nan, and several nieces and nephews. Peggy was predeceased by her husband of 59 years, Thomas Ryan, Sr. in 2008, grandson Thomas Ryan III in 2010 and daughter-in-law Cindy Ryan in 2005. She was a member of the DAR and a communicant of St. Mary's Church in Watkins Glen and St. Benedicts in Odessa. Family and friends are invited to call at the Vedder and Scott Funeral Home, 122 N. Genesee Street, Montour Falls, NY on Thursday, November 21st from 6 to 8 PM. On Friday, November 22nd there will be viewing in the link at the St. Mary's Church in Watkins Glen at 9 AM followed by Mass at 10 AM; interment will follow at the Holy Cross Cemetery.
