Obituary of Colin D. O'Neil
Colin Dennis O'Neil, 27, of Odessa, NY died June 18, 2017 as a result of injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident. He was born January 23, 1990 in Sayre PA, the devoted and loving son of Jane O'Neil and the late Brian O'Neil, the grandson of Lois and Dennis O'Neil, and the great grandson of Howard & Helen Hanlon. He is an OMCS 2008 graduate and graduated from Keuka College in 2012 with a bachelors' degree in business management. After college he worked for EPS of Vermont in Albany NY and then at Glenora Wine Cellars in Dundee, NY.
Colin was an avid woodsman, outdoorsman and loved off roading in his Jeep. Recently, he went on a 2 week long solo adventure on the logging trails of several states in the US. Colin was a loving son and loyal friend. He was a valued and appreciated member of the Glenora Wine Cellars family. Colin touched many lives and was loved by so many people.
Colin was a devoted son and is survived by his mother Jane O'Neil. He also leaves an extended family of aunts, uncles and cousins who loved him dearly, Jennifer Dunlap and husband Gary of Virginia, Julie Dunlap and husband Jim also of Virginia, David Dunlap and wife Robin of Arizona, Peggy Brown and husband Joel of Saratoga Springs NY, cousins Abigail and William Boshart and Alexander and Patrick Corrigan, all of Virginia, Dalton and Dillon Dunlap of AZ, Jason, Caitlin, and Andrew Brown of NY. And many many friends who were proud and privileged to know Colin and call him their friend, especially Joel Markley, who was like a second father to Colin, and Colin's best friends, Tommy Dykshorn and John Bigelow, whose friendship and support Colin treasured. He also leaves behind his beloved dog and loyal companion Shelby, who he loved so much.
Colin will be remembered as a devoted son, tremendous friend, and an amazing person and will be greatly missed.
Relatives and friends are invited to call on Saturday, June 24, 2017 from 1:00PM to 4:00PM at Vedder and Scott Funeral Home, 122 N. Genesee St., Montour Falls. A service will be held privately by the family. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider donations to a charity of your choice. Those wishing to remember and honor Colin, should plant a tree in his memory.
