Obituary of Vina Chamberlain

Vina Irene Chamberlain, 87, of Montour Falls, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, July 30, 2016, with her family by her side. She was born in Greene, NY, on November 2, 1928, the daughter of the late Gaius and Florabelle Seymour. She graduated from high school in Greene. She was an extraordinary homemaker; and also worked with her husband at Chamberlain Realty, a family business, for many years. She was a member of the Odessa-Catharine United Methodist Church and Chat-A-While of Odessa. She was also involved in Cub Scouts, Girl Scouts, 4-H, Zonta, and Western Squares. Vina was a reserved, sensitive, artistic woman, who loved her family well. She had a great sense of humor and a keen eye…Not much got past her! She lived a quiet, small town and country life, always caring for her family and her community with grace. Vina is survived by her children, Connie Maatta of Plymouth, NH, Blaine Chamberlain of Ithaca, William Chamberlain of Selbyville, DE, Greg Chamberlain of Horseheads; son-in-law, Jon Maatta; daughters-in-law, Judy Fitcha, Sharon VanOrd, and Damita Chamberlain; 10 grandchildren, Lee, Jennifer, Laurel, Kelly, Desiree, Dana, Alisha, Haley, Noelle and Charlotte; 6 great grandchildren, Jakob, Issac, Sarah, Lexi, Olivia and Adonis. She was predeceased by her husband Charles W. Chamberlain in 2005, her parents, two brothers and two sisters. A private interment will be held by the family in October at Laurel Hill Cemetery. Contributions may be made in her memory to CareFirst Hospice. Arrangements are under the direction of Vedder and Scott Funeral Home, Montour Falls.
