Obituary of Rhion Rathbone

Rhion Alexander Rathbone, 22, of Alpine, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, July 30, 2015. He was born in Cortland on July 25, 1993, the son of Shawn Rathbone and Debora Fellwock. He graduated from Odessa-Montour High School and attended Corning Community College. Rhion worked at Walmart at one time. He was an avid writer and recently published his poetry book online. He was a true comedian at heart. He is survived by his mother, Debora Fellwock of Odessa; his father, Shawn (Jamie) Rathbone of Auburn; siblings, Ashley Parker, Ethan Fellwock, Jim Magel, Emma and Ella Rathbone, and Kayleigh Robinson whom Rhion considered his sister and his twin; his paternal grandparents, John and Norma Rathbone of Cincinnatus; maternal grandparents, John Grover of Alpine and Bea Grover of Montour Falls; aunts and uncles, Lisa (Will) Shrout, whom Rhion considered his second mother, Joel, Clay (Nikole), and Jeff Grover, Sandra (Mike) Randall, Amy (Jason) Morgan, and Maryanne (Gray) Frederick; cousins, Jordan Robinson, Taylor, Olivia, and Paden Grover, Gabriel Grover, Melissa and Jenn Randall, Amanda Miller, and Geoffrey and Geran Frederick; and his best friend, Adam Dionne. He was predeceased by his grandmother, Helen Jean Grover, and his Great Grandmother Millie Jenks. Relatives and friends are invited to join together for a celebration of Rhion's life on Monday, August 3, 2015 from 3-6 pm at the Montour Moose Lodge.
