I was in a class with Francine for only one year in elementary school in Newfield, Occasonally, over these many years, she would come to mind, and I would wonder how life had turned out for her. Even though we were the same age, Francine always seemed wiser than I was. It seemed to me she quietly held a cache of deep knowledge within herself. As it turns out, she and I lived only a few miles from each other all this time, but our paths never crossed again.

My sincerest condolences to her family. Francine was exceptional.
