Rundle, Nettie Ruth - "Ruth"
Ruth Rundle, age 87, of Montour Falls and Valois, NY left this world on Friday, July 6, 2012 at Schuyler Hospital surrounded by her loving family.

She met the love of her life, Stanley Rundle of Odessa, NY, at DAR Army Airfield in Albany, GA while she was a dispatcher and he was a pilot. They married in Albany on April 25, 1943 and moved to Odessa, NY in 1953. Together they established Rundle's Trailer Park on Seneca Lake, which they operated together until Stan passed away in August of 1993. Ruth continued to operate the park until her passing.
Ruth is survived by two sons: Charles (Rosaleta) Rundle of Horseheads, NY and Fred (Jean) Rundle of Suwanee, GA; three grandchildren: David Tyler Rundle (Stephanie Maslich) of Rocky Hill, CT, Brett (Devin) Rundle of Savannah, GA, and Lisa (Matt) Mathews of Dacula, GA; four great grandchildren: Jincy, Jadyn, and Jack Rundle of Savannah, GA and Ryan Mathews of Dacula, GA. She is also survived by a brother, Dr. Roy W. Sweat of Atlanta, GA, a sister, Peggy Smith of Greensboro, GA, along with several loving nieces and nephews, including special nieces Susan Buckley-Holland and Jan Hall-Morgan. She is also survived by many loving friends and her "family" at Rundle's Trailer Park.
Ruth was predeceased by her loving husband, Stanley; her parents, Warren and Elfleda; her brother, Jesse Pline (Bo) Sweat; her sisters: Dorothy Sweat, Janette (Ginny) George, Ethylene Hall and Louise Hawkins; daughter-in-law Beth Gardner Rundle.
Ruth loved life. She was a wonderful cook who entertained many with her delicious recipes including hush puppies, chicken dinners and homemade pies and cookies. She was a hostess to many special gatherings of both family and friends. Above all else, she loved her family. Her southern drawl and her friendly "Hey" to everyone will be fondly remembered by so many forever.
The family will receive friends at Vedder and Scott Funeral Home in Montour Falls on Sunday, July 8th from 3-5 PM with the funeral immediately following. The Reverend Jane Winters will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, please honor Ruth's memory and her love of family by enjoying some special time with your own families. Throw in a "Hey Ya'll" along with good food, smiles and laughter and give the little ones big hugs from Miss Ruth.
