Obituary of Michael A. Lapriore
Michael "Mike" Lapriore passed away August 6, 2024 after a long battle with cancer. He was 77.
Mike was born in Port Jervis N.Y. on February 28th 1947 to Michael P. and Anna "Betty" Lopriore. He attended Port Jervis High School. After graduation, Mike enlisted in the USAF serving 8 years,3 of which were in the far east. He was a Vietnam veteran. Upon discharge, Mike joined the Port Jervis Police Dept. and after 5 years, transferred to the N.Y. Dept. of Corrections. He served many years at Monterey Shock and Willard D.T.S. He retired after 25 yrs of service.
Mike enjoyed many activities including hunting, golf, bowling, and spending time with family. He was a long time member of the V.F.W., the Montour Moose, and past member of B.P.O.E.
Mike was predeceased by his father, mother, oldest daughter, and his beloved wife of 42 years, Stephanie, in 2022. He is survived by his daughter Jamie, son-in-law Dennis, and granddaughters Kenley and Cordelia Thompson, all of whom he loved very much.
Mike would like to thank all of the doctors, nurses, and administrative staff at the Falck Cancer Center and Care First, especially nurse Robin, who provided unwavering care during his treatment.
