Obituary of Glenda Gigi Siglin Cooke

Glenda “Gigi” Siglin Cooke, 85 of Wayne, NY went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday June 18, 2024 at Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, PA after a brief illness. She was surrounded by her family.  Gigi was born in Elmira, NY on March 26, 1939. The daughter of the late Dorothy Geiser Winkler& Leo Carl Geiser. She attended Thomas Edison High School in Elmira Heights, NY. She lived a life marked by creativity, devotion and generosity.

Gigi loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and took every opportunity to be a part of their life. She had a big heart for family & friends. She was a dynamic and versatile professional with an entrepreneurial spirit, engaging in many careers throughout her life. She was the proprietor of Heart & Hand Haus an art studio in Slatington, PA. Served as a waitress, she was a vendor at Montour Falls Farmer’s Market in Mid-1970. Her career also included roles as Catalog Manager/Buyer at Artistic Greetings, Elmira, NY and continued working on catalogs at two other companies. In CT & IL.. Gigi was known for creating Angel Name Poems, which she sold at The Windmill, Penn Yan, NY and through national newspaper flyers. Later, she ventured into real estate with Century 21 Sabarra & Wells in Penn Yan, NY, where she was recognized for her outstanding efforts. Her passion for art continued into her later years with the founding of Tipsy Paint with Gigi Classes at Lost & Found Inn in Tyrone, NY. She enjoyed her friends at the OWLS Club, Paint Class, and Wayne Auxiliary.  Her faith was a cornerstone of her life, evident in her commitment to praying for others and maintaining her God Can filled with prayer requests.

Gigi is survived by her husband, Thomas Cooke.  Her daughters, Susan (Bernard) Baker, Bambi (Travis) Johnson, and son Carl (Dawn) Siglin. Step children Liza (Craig) Bellaire, Virginia(Adam) Schrader, Thomas Cooke Jr., Leandra Cooke, Brandy Cooke, Mike Cooke, Barbie Lynk-Cooke, Jenifer Lynk-Cooke, Sabrina Carey-Cooke. Her grandchildren: Jennifer Siglin, Judah(Elyse) Baker, Cory Siglin, Hannah(Joe) Lucia, Becca(Andrew) Theismann, Brittany (Nathan) Ford, Ashlynn Smith, Cody Smith. Ryan Schrader, Ashlyn Schrader, Austin Schrader, Mia Schrader, Christina Bellaire & Alex Bellaire., AIidan Douglas, Michael & Julia Cooke, Olivia & Isabella Cooke. Her great-grandchildren  Ariel, Audrey, Isabelle Baker and Samuel & Noah & Liam Lewis.  Her Brother, Norman (Patricia) Geiser.  Several loved nieces & nephews and many brother & sister-in-laws.

Family & Friends are invited to a service to be held on September 7, 2024, at Tyrone United Methodist Church, 3647 Church Hill Rd, Tyrone, NY, at 11 am, officiated by Pastor Lee Capodagli. Followed by a Celebration of Life at the Tyrone Volunteer Fire Department, 3600 NY-226, and Tyrone, NY. Later in evening a private family burial will follow at McDowell Cemetery, 9831 NY-230,  Wayne, NY.
