Obituary of Robert E. Watkins

Robert E. Watkins, 71, of Watkins Glen, NY and formerly of Chemung County, passed away on November 5, 2023. He was born in Elmira, NY on September 19, 1952 the son of Robert “Andy” Watkins and Margaret Christy Watkins and graduated from Southside High School.

Robert retired from the NYS Department of Corrections. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and enjoyed spending time with his grand “Fur Babies”. He also loved NASCAR and muscle cars.

He is survived by his daughter, Katherine Watkins of Sayre, PA; son, Robert P. Watkins (Trish Hawken) of Elmira, NY; three step children, Alexis, Aiden and Dylan Harford; granddaughter, Lillian; and by several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents; and by his brother and sister-in-law, John and Patricia Watkins.

Services will be held at a future date. Those wishing to make a donation may donate directly to Robert's family to offset his funeral costs.
