Obituary of Andrew W. Tanner

Andrew W. Tanner of Dundee, NY passed away on Saturday, July 22, 2023 at Soldiers & Sailors Hospital in Penn Yan, NY.

Andrew is survived by his wife of 57 years, Bonnie L. (Schaffhouser) Tanner; daughters, Tamara L. Tanner Everett (Jeff) and Becky A. Tanner Farley (Richard); grandchildren, Carrie Langley (Jason), Joshua Langley (Cecelia), Amanda Hill (Adam), Travis Aldrich, and Tom Aldrich (Kaylee); several great-grandchildren; sister, Pat Specchio; and brothers-in-law, Steve Schaffhouser, Bob Schaffhouser, Art Schaffhouser, James Capogrossi, and Dale Heichel. He was predeceased by his daughters Debra and Andrea.

Andrew worked for Schuyler Department of Transportation for 30 years. He served with the US Navy from 1963-1966. He moved to Florida after he retired for 25 years. He loved golf, cruises, and Stetson University Baseball (Beacher Creatures). He was a fan of the New York Mets and New York Giants. His best friends were Dick Coyle, Joe Seib, Tom Beecher and his dog, Buster Brown.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, July 28, 2023 at 11:00 am at Holy Cross Cemetery, State Route 14, Watkins Glen, NY. Flowers will be provided by the family. A celebration of his life will be held at the convenience of his family.
