Obituary of Maxfield Huston

Maxfield L. Huston, lifelong resident of Schuyler County, NY, age 86, of Montour Falls, NY passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 28, 25013 at Seneca View Skilled Nursing Facility in Montour Falls, NY. He was born on August 18, 1927 in Logan, NY the son of the late Clarence Maxfield Huston and Helen Estella Tichenor Huston. His is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Daniel & Bonny Huston of Mifflinburg, PA; son-in-law: David & wifte, Lori Dehond of Jacksonville, FL; grandchildren, Dennis & Jessica DeHond of Ashburn, VA, Rebecca & Andrew Vinas of San Francisco, CA, Erin Noel of Rochester, NY, Patricia & Steve Schaap of Cortland, NY and Kimberly Huston of Charlton, MA; great grandchildren, Hannah & Audrey Vinas of San Francisco, CA, Benjamin DeHond, Ashburn, VA and Jeremiah Schaap. Mr. Huston was predeceased by his wife, Shirley Ruth Hayes in 2000 and his daughter Darlene Joyce DeHond in 1999. Mr. Huston was a member of the Montour Falls United Methodist Church. Mr. Huston was previously a member of the Board of Directors for the Schuyler County Chapter of the American Cancer Society. He was also active for many years on the committee for the Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service (ASCS). He lived the majority of his life on a dairy farm, with the last 13 years as a resident of Seneca View Skilled Nursing Facility. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the Vedder and Scott Funeral Home, 122 N. Genesee St., Montour Falls, NY on Sunday, September 1 from 2-5 PM. His funeral service will be held immediately following at 5 PM; the Rev. Sheila Price officiating; interment at Montour Cemetery on Tuesday at 11 AM.
