Condolences
Mr. Likoudis and family we are very sad to hear the passing of Ruth. I was friends to Therese, Celine, Kathy, Margaret and Mark and Paul. I remembered staying at the family home with the girls. I remember Ruth's garden it was beautiful red roses and pink. I would go over just to capture thir sweet smell. Ruth had a special way of making flowers beautiful. I am sorry for your loss. Bless your family at this time. Our thoughts are with you. I always thought of your family over the years and wondered how you all were doing. We missed you when you moved away. Love to all, Marilyn Jones. My email is mellenj286@ gmail.com.
Ruth was an inspiration. She was beautiful and she surrounded herself in beauty. The home that she made for herself and Jim at the base of Montour Falls was incredible. A talented decorator in traditional style, she added her own flair, and did much of the work herself. She was on a ladder outside painting the unusual yellow colored siding not too long ago! Her. gardens were lovely, with lilies of all varieties that she fussed over constantly. Ruth welcomed all of the tourists and guests who stopped to view the magnificent Shequaga Falls and often would invite people in for a personal tour of the house. I will always remember her. My condolences to the family that she was so proud of.
My sympathies go out to Paul's widow, Paulette, Therese, Mark, Celine, Cathy, and Margaret and all their families. I also send my condolences to Uncle George, Uncle John and Aunt Libby.
Aunt Ruth was a wonderful lady. She was married to Uncle JIm for almost 71 years. She and Uncle Jim raised 6 wonderful children. When they lived in Watkins Glen, they had my family stay with them every Memorial Day weekend. Aunt Ruth made such wonderful dinners. The six Likoudis kids and my brother, Allan, and myself made 8 kids in that house for 3 days. We had such fun playing hide and seek, etc. What wonderful memories!
Ruth Likoudis will be missed by many. Someday we will see her again in heaven.

Well then......I guess James is a very lucky man 'finding' Ruth. Based on a reliable source, the Likoudis' are celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary this weekend.
Ruth is a most beautiful woman. I have seen her working outside sanding wood, painting, on ladders, and moving stuff around like spring chicken. She near single-handedly established and maintains that fairly large garden on the side and back of their house. And you can see the detailed work she has done in design, restoring and refinishing each interior inch of their historic 'Jackson' residence, which is immediately adjacent to the falls in Montour. She is also very charming in conversation.
