Final Resting Place
Condolences
We are so sorry to hear of Mr. Phillips' passing. He was a great man and is a warm and gentle spirit. We were lucky to know him. I can see him in my mind as I write this, that way he would kind of look askance and smile a bit like the Cheshire Cat, but with a little shrug thrown in. He lifted my parents' spirits many times when they needed it. And, he led by example to all of us by being a loving, tolerant and kind father, friend and co-worker. He and Bertha were always so good to all of us Dennerlein kids! We are grateful they and you were part of our lives.
Take care of each other and remember the happy, funny, cheerful moments!

I grew up with Mr. Phillips visiting our house nearly every weekend in the summer to fly RC planes with my Dad off of our field. I fondly remember always being happy he had shown up and going out and helping with the planes as much as I could. I chased countless planes around our airfield and have a biplane he built hanging in my bedroom. He was always cheerful and always smiling and so interesting. Last time I saw him a few years ago we had a wonderful visit.
Daddy, Jim Bennett, known to Phil as Ben, has always told stories of their Army, and later, escapades. Phil and Marc's trip to Amelia holds fond memories as well. Our sincere condolences to you all.
Don was a friend for over 45 years, He taught me to fly radio control airplanes in 1979 and we enjoyed many winters flying off the snow and ice near his home. He was a friend to all and every thing related to airplanes and flight. My children grew up knowing don and the family. Our thoughts and prayers to the family. God speed don.
