Obituary of Frances E. Lindsley
Please share a memory of Frances to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
In memory of the beloved Frances E. Lindsley, 91, of Odessa, NY, who truly enjoyed the journey of life, and shared all of the love God gave her, passed away on Saturday, September 17, 2022 at home. She was a mother to many and a teacher to all ages. Known as "Mom" to all the kids in the neighborhood and baby sitter to many more, she always made an effort to attend all of the activities they were in. Her dedication extended to flying out to Missouri to surprise her grandson by handing him his high school diploma.
Frances was a woman of charity, honor, community service and grace. She taught nursery school at the Baptist Church in Odessa, NY for a number of years. She also helped with vacation bible school when her kids were younger. Her love and compassion went further than just her family. Relatives and neighbors will remember the smile she always wore and her hard work. As an enthusiast of nature, you could often find her in her garden or on the porch watching for her humming birds. She was a guardian angel to all long before God gave her wings. Frances E. Lindsley is now at peace in heaven's glorious garden. The family would like to thank Care First for the comfort they provided her in the last couple of months of her life.
She was born in Watkins Glen, NY on December 26, 1930. She was predeceased by her parents, Francis Miller (1997) and Letitia (Betties) Miller (1995); husband, Walter E. Lindsley (2005); brothers, Frederick Miller, John Miller; and sister, Mary Ellen Miller.
She is survived by two daughters, Sharon Lindsley of Odessa, NY, Vivian Lindsley Bachand (Darren Bachand) of Schell City, Missouri; three sons, Dennis Lindsley (Cheryl Allen), Tim Lindsley and Bill Lindsley all of Odessa, NY. She has eight grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren, April Oldfield, Amy McFall, Danny Astarita Lindsley, Justin M. Hall, Alyssa Lindsley, Kylan Bachand, Joshua Bachand (Amanda), and Jeremy Bachand; and eleven great grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to call on Thursday, September 22, 2022 from 2-4 pm at Vedder-Scott & Zinger Funeral Home, 122 N. Genesee St., Montour Falls, NY. Her funeral service will follow at 4:00 pm. Burial will be in Montour Cemetery.
