Obituary of Anthony J. Fraboni

Anthony J. Fraboni, age 62, of Watkins Glen, NY passed away May 19, 2022. Services will be May 25, 2022 at 10 AM at St. Mary's of the Lake Church in Watkins Glen, NY followed by burial at St. Mary's Cemetery. Tony was born on August 27, 1959 at Schuyler Hospital in Montour Falls, NY. He was a graduate of Watkins Glen Central School and received his BS from Syracuse University. Tony is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Viglione Fraboni, of Watkins Glen NY, son Mark A. (Tristine Mace) Fraboni of St. Perersburg Fl, brother Frank (Sarah) Fraboni of Oriental NC, sisters Kathy (Alan) McBride of Bear DE, Cindy (Brian) Pierce of Dansville NY. Sisters in Law Margaret Kuznets of Hubbard Lake MI, and Chanh Viglione of Tully NY. Brothers in law Thomas Viglione of Kansas City, Kansas and Alex Kuznets of CherryHill NJ, parents Kathryn and Amedeo Fraboni and Beverly and Thomas Viglione all of Watkins Glen NY, several nieces and nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends he loved dearly. Tony was predeceased by his great niece Sophia McBride, aunt Dr. Blanche Borzell, uncle Jim Robertson, and brother in law John R. Viglione. Tony was long dedicated to public service, he served as treasurer for the Watkins Glen Area Chamber of Commerce, Tri-County Housing Board, and on the Watkins Glen Public Library Board. Tony was a former village Planning Board member, and village trustee. As a trustee he was instrumental as a member of the Joint Project Committee in the construction of a regional water treatment plant along the canal between Watkins and Montour Falls. A longtime VP and branch manager of Community Bank in Watkins Glen, he retired in 2021. He was an active Rotarian, having served as its president, and the moving force behind a successful annual fund raising auction. He was a Paul Harris Fellow, received the Chamber of Commerce Community Spirit Award and Max Neil Award. He was also an Odessa File Essential of Schuyler County. Tony was an avid SU basketball fan, snowmobiler, jet skier, boater, and cigar smoker. He and his sense of humor will be greatly missed.
