Obituary of Joyce L. Reynolds

Joyce L. (Carman) Reynolds, age 93, of Montour Falls, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 26th, 2021at Seneca View Nursing Home in Montour Falls, NY. Joyce was born in Elmira NY, daughter of the late William and Lena Carman. She graduated from Odessa Montour High School in 1946.She started her career at Cotton & Hanlon retail store. She then went to work for AmeriGas for 43 years, working as an office manager, retiring at 75 years old. Joyce was predeceased by her husband, Gilbert Reynolds (Gibby) in 2000 and her two brothers, William and Robert Carman. Gibby and Joyce were married in Odessa, NY in 1948. Joyce was a devoted wife taking care of Gibby for over 25 years after suffering from an illness. She is survived by her three sons, Douglas (Diana), Dale (Marilyn), and Dudley Reynolds; grandchildren, Michel (Tim) Ray, Stacy Reynolds-Moore, Brian (Arlene), Brett (Brenda), Benny, Stephanie (Scott), Levi and Markus Reynolds; and nine special great-grandchildren. Joyce had a love for animals, especially her cats and dogs. She enjoyed walks with her dogs, feeding and watching the birds, and loved working in her gardens. Her greatest joy was having the whole family over for holiday dinners and celebrations. The cookie jar and candy drawer were always full for the grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Joyce also enjoyed going out to dinner with her family and longtime friends. A private memorial will be held by her family. There will be no funeral services per Joyce's wishes. Memorial donations can be made to the Humane Society of Schuyler County. She will rest in peace with Gibby at Highland Cemetery, Odessa NY.
