Obituary of Betty J. DeDominics

Betty J. DeDominics, 80, of Addison and formerly of Odessa, passed away on Tuesday, October 2, 2018. She was born on March 15, 1938, the daughter of the late Donald and Marguerite Cook. Betty was a proud member of the Home Bureau since the 1970's. While a member, she was NYS Home Bureau President, State Secretary, Central District Secretary & Treasurer, District Director twice and Chemung County Treasurer & Secretary. Betty worked at the Pantry of Angels and volunteered for community service projects too numerous to mention. She was a former member and Sunday school teacher at the Odessa-Catharine United Methodist Church. She was also very active in raising her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is survived by her daughter, Sheila Smith; grandchildren, CJ (Jayson) Chamberlin, Thomas (Courtney) Morgan, Derek (Ashley) Morgan and Bradley (Tina) Smith; great grandchildren, Joseph, Abby, Addison, Owen, Jackson, Natalie, Courtney and Anunziatta; brothers, Tom and Donny Cook; sisters, Kate Smith and Joyce States; friends, Marion and Ed Swackhammer; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews; and all of her family at Sunflower Acres Campground. She was predeceased by her son, Walter "Sam" Smith, husband, Sabatino "Sam" DeDominics, and by her former husband Walter "Jack" Smith. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 6, 2018 at 1:00 pm at Laurel Hill Cemetery, County Road 10, Odessa. Arrangements by Vedder and Scott Funeral Home, Montour Falls.
