Obituary of Thomas H. Elliott
Thomas H. Elliott, 92, of Watkins Glen, passed away on Sunday, May 6, 2018 at home surrounded by his loving wife and daughters Cynthia and Cherrie. He was born in Elmira on November 9, 1925, the son of the late Joseph B. and Madeline (Kakritz) Elliott. Tom served with the US Navy from 1942-1946. On April 26, 1947, he married Margaret MacBlane in St. Charles Borromeo Church in Elmira Heights.
Tom was a correctional officer at Elmira Correctional Facility and later at Camp Monterey where he retired. He previously worked at Swift Lubricator. Tom was a member of the Mechanics Club, Montour Moose Lodge, VFW in Watkins Glen, and the American Legion in Elmira Heights. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening tomatoes, and loved his toys-motorcycles and muscle cars.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 71 years, Margaret A. Elliott; children, Cynthia Elliott of Rochester, Louise Wilson of Bath, Joseph B. (Ann) Elliott of Corning, and Cherrie Hurd of Corning; sister, Priscilla (Norman) Ogden of Horseheads; nine grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Barbara Cambio.
Relatives and friends are invited to call on Friday, May 11, 2018 from 11-1 pm at Vedder and Scott Funeral Home, 122 N. Genesee St., Montour Falls.
